In February, Rick DeSilva Jr. of local car dealership Liberty Subaru won the 2021 TIME Dealer of the Year Award at the 104th National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Show. This prestigious accolade was given out by leaders from TIME and Ally Financial, the latter of which donated $10,000 to charities selected by DeSilva.
This contribution was made official at an event hosted by Ally Financial on Thursday August 12, along with a $5,000 donation to the Charles E. Walton Charitable Foundation started by the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers (NJCAR) to give back to hundreds of other local charities. The ones chosen by DeSilva consist of:
- John F. Carty Scholarship Fund who received $4,000
- Mahwah Schools Foundation who also got $4,000
- Mahwah Museum Society who received $2,000
- Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Gift of Life who got $1,000
In addition to the charities above, DeSilva performs other philanthropy in his community including efforts to further education in his hometown of Mahwah NJ. In fact, he has been serving on the Mahwah Board of Education since 2012 & even took part in the creation of a new STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts & mathematics) center.
Most recently, DeSilva used his role as the Vice President of the Mahwah Board of Education to help safely bring students & staff back to school in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. NADA Show 2022 Registration
It’s been officially announced by NADA that registration for the 2022 edition of their show will open up on Monday September 13, 2021. NADA Show 2022 will mark the in-person return for this event after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic & will take place from Thursday March 10 through Sunday March 13.
